- On Capital Hill this week the talk has mostly been about taxes. Specifically, Obama new tax plan that we are seeing a bit more clearly everyday. For example, Obama claims he will only be raising taxes on the “rich”, some 2% of Americans. However, in truth Obama will be raising taxes for the top 2 tax brackets, 80% of which is small business owners (which file taxes in association with personal income, like an “s-corp”). And when looked at deeper we see in the past decade 60-80% of all new jobs created were created by “small businesses.” This could ultimately add to the employment issue at hand, among other things: New York Post, The Telegraph.UK, The Wallstreet Journal
